FIDE WOMEN’S WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP MATCH
DATES AND HOST CITY TO BE ANNOUNCED
The Women’s World Championship Match consists of 12 games. The player who scores 6.5 points or more wins the Match, and no further games are played. If the score after 12 games is equal, the winner is decided on a tiebreak.

The winner of this 8-player double round-robin (all-play-all twice) becomes the Challenger for the chess crown. In case of a tie for first place after 14 rounds, the playoff determines the winner.

2023 FIDE WOMEN’S WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP MATCH
Chongqing/Shanghai, China

The defending Champion, Ju Wenjun, will face the winner of the FIDE Women's Candidates Final, Lei Tingjie. The 12-game match will take place from July 5th to 25th, switching between Chongqing and Shanghai halfway. It remains to be decided which city will host the first half and which one the second.
Ju Wenjun claimed her fourth Women’s World Champion title after clinching a crucial victory in the decisive, final, 12th game of the match against challenger Lei Tingjie. Final score 6.5-5.5 in favor of defending Women's World Champion Ju Wenjun.

16 players compete in the WGP Series. Each of the players shall participate in 3 out of 4 WGP tournaments (12-player round robin events).
WGP points distributed in each of the 4 events:
1st place - 160
2nd - 130
3rd - 110
4th - 90

8th - 50
9th - 40
10th - 30
11th - 20
12th - 10
The final standings of the WGP Series are determined by the sum of WGP points earned in each tournament. The two players who score the most WGP points qualify for the FIDE Women Candidates Tournament 2024.

System of play: Each match consists of two classical games (one game per day) with the time control of 90 minutes for the first 40 moves, followed by 30 minutes for the rest of the game
with an increment of 30 seconds per move starting from move 1. If tied, a tiebreak follows on the third day: two 25m+10s rapid games, if still tied, then two 10m+10s games, if still tied, then two 5m+3s games, if still tied, then a 3m+2s game shall decide the winner (in case of a draw, another game is played until there is a winner).
